Taxpayer Rights
The IRS published a Declaration of Taxpayer Rights which details the various rights afforded taxpayers when dealing with the IRS. Such rights include, but are not limited to, the following: the right to privacy and confidentiality, the right to professional and courteous service, and the right to representation. See IRS Publication 1 for more details.
Although IRS agents are instructed to avoid infringing on taxpayer’s rights, only an attorney acting on your behalf can truly ensure these essential rights are protected and respected.
